Social Network Marketing – It’s Not Just Facebook Anymore

Over the last several years we have seen an increase in business to consumer interactions on social media. This intimate level of connection has proven to be very profitable. Any time you can create a connection with an audience it is golden.  In the beginning there was Myspace… Not too many businesses were able to use it to reach an audience. It was the wrong concept. Then it was Facebook. Overnight it seemed to take Myspace out of the light. That has been “The” social network of choice for Americans. (1.3 billion world wide) If you have an Urgent Care Clinic this one is a no brainer! You should have a business page for your clinic and you should be posting and engaging often. Here’s where the fun comes in. Since Facebook has had such tremendous success there have been several new social networking sites that have popped up. Now you must be all things to all people. Some are going to be looking to Twitter. Others LinkedIn, Google + or even Instagram and Pinterest. It’s important to know your audience and which social platform they prefer. You could be missing out on business just for not speaking the right social lingo or not speaking it the right way or frequency. Here’s some interesting info and a chart from the PEW Research Center:

Social Stats PEWSome 73% of online adults now use a social networking site of some kind. Facebook is the dominant social networking platform in the number of users, but a striking number of users are now diversifying onto other platforms. Some 42% of online adults now use multiple social networking sites. In addition, Instagram users are nearly as likely as Facebook users to check in to the site on a daily basis. These are among the key findings on social networking site usage and adoption from a new survey from the Pew Research Center’s Internet Project.

As in previous Pew Research surveys of social networking usage, Facebook remains the dominant player in the social networking space. Some 71% of online adults are now Facebook users, a slight increase from the 67% of online adults who used Facebook as of late 2012.  Click Here to read the full report from PEW
